EASIEST METHOD TO FIND SFD BMD FOR SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM WITH CENTRAL POINT LOAD

Image
EASIEST METHOD TO FIND SFD BMD FOR SIMPLY SUPPORTED BEAM WITH CENTRAL POINT LOAD A t the ends of a simply supported beam the bending moments are zero. At the wall of a cantilever beam, the bending moment equals the moment reaction. At the free end, the bending moment is zero. Beams – SFD and BMD   • Draw the SFD and BMD.  Determine reactions at supports. • Cut beam at C and consider member AC, V = + P 2 M = + Px 2 • Cut beam at E and consider member EB, V = - P 2 M = + P ( L - x ) 2   • for a beam subjected to concentrated loads, shear is constant between loading points and moment varies linearly
