THE CONCERTRATED LOAD COMMING ON THE COLUMNS ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE FOOTINGS WHICH FINALLY SPREAD LOADS TO GREATER EXTENDED AREA BELOW FOOTING TO GROUND. BEFORE PLACING FOOTINGS SOME PRECAUTIONS:- https://youtu.be/bm6-vrfdAkA The Popular 5 Types of Footings 1.THE FOUNDATION EARTH WORK  BEFORE  PLACING FOOTINGS SHOULD EXAMINE  . THE DRAWINGS SHALL BE STUDIED AND MISSING DIMENSIONS SHALL BE OBTAINED. 2. DEPTH  OF FOOTINGS ,SIZE OF FOOTING TO BE AS PER DRAWING .ABOUT 150 TO 200 MM CLEARANCE SHALL BE LEFT AROUND BASE OF FOOTINGS TO FACILIATE WORKING. 3.THE BASE OF SOIL TO BE RAMMED PROPERLY TO GET LEVEL SURFACE WITH SPREADING MOORUM MIXED WITH SAND. 4.150MM P.C.C.WITH 1:4;8 SHALE BE LAID BELOW BASE OF FOOTINGS. 5.EXTRA DEPTH AROUND FOOTINGS BASE SHALL BE FILLED WITH SAND AND COMPACTED PROPERLY. 6.PLACE THE BASE REINFORCEMENTS JALI WITH 40 MM COVER . 7.THE VERTICAL REINFORCEMENT OF COLUMN TO B

https://youtu.be/-MUeEDaQkvI What is Curing of Concrete?? Curing is a process during which a chemical reaction (such as polymerization) or physical action (such as evaporation) takes place, resulting in a harder, tougher or more stable linkage (such as an adhesive bond) or substance (such as concrete ) Why do Concrete Comprehensive Strength Testing required to be Tested at 28 days??   Concrete gain 60 %  -65% of specified strength in 7 days   And 90% of Specified Compressive Strength in 28 days.   So,It is recommended as per IS 456 -2000 to Test verification of Strength of concrete as mentioned above at 7 days & 28 days respectively to checking the variations limit of strengths . We should do proper curing by considering the environmental conditions, type of structural members, atmospheric temperature ?? Maintaining the proper temperature also plays a vital role in concrete as mentioned, it should  not be colder than 5 0 C.  Concrete is kept moist for at least 28 days. Recommend
