How will you recognise points of Contraflexure in different types of Beams

Key Words
Different types of Beam, Simply supported, Cantilever, Overhangged, Points of Contraflexure, phenomenon of points of Contraflexure, Vertical forces, Bending moment,UDL,BMdiagrams
1.Simply Supported Beam
A simply supported beam rests freely at both ends. This is why it is also known as a freely supported beam. This type of beam is installed in a way that it has pinned support at one end and a roller support on the other end. It makes it very good at handling resisting vertical forces

2.Cantilever Beam
A cantilever is a rigid structural element that extends horizontally and is supported at only one end. Typically it extends from a flat vertical surface such as a wall, to which it must be firmly attached. Like other structural elements, a cantilever can be formed as a beam, plate, truss, or slab.

3.overhanging Beam my
If the end portion of a beam extends beyond the support, then the beam is known as overhanging beam. Overhanging may be on one of the supports or on both the sides.
